Privacy Policy

This app remembers where you left something. It handles only what that task needs, and deletes what is no longer needed.

1. You do not have to sign in

Recording and finding work without an account. Signing in is a choice for two things — keeping your records when you change phones and sharing a chosen device with someone else. If you do not sign in, nothing listed under “stored on the server” is ever created.

2. Kept only on this device

Making a record accurate takes more than a location alone. The information used along the way never leaves this device.

InformationUsed for
Details of connected Bluetooth devicesTo tell which device disconnected
Nearby network environmentTo recognise a place you have been before
Device sensor readingsTo judge the location and floor more accurately
Temporary data such as addresses shown on screenSo the same lookup is not repeated

None of this is sent to a server, and it is removed when you uninstall the app.

3. Stored on the server once you sign in

InformationDetails
Location recordsThe recorded place and time, with accuracy information
What you enteredFloor and notes
Device informationName, kind and display colour. A device's unique address is stored only as a value that cannot be read back
Account informationThe identifier and email address from Google sign-in, the six-character tag used for invitations, and a nickname if you set one
Sharing informationGroup name, members, which devices are shared, and invitations sent or received
Notification addressA value issued so notifications can reach this device

Your Google profile photo and name are not collected. Invitations use a six-character tag rather than an email address, so users never learn each other's email.

The server runs on cloud services located in and outside your country, and access is limited to you and the people you share with.

4. Use of external services

External services are used for the following purposes.

PurposeWhat is sent
Showing the mapThe requests needed to draw a map
Helping judge location and floorA broad, approximate area only. The place where you left something is never sent
Delivering notificationsThe notification text and the receiving device's notification address
Showing addressesA feature provided by the operating system, which may use the network depending on device and region

Notification text may contain a device name or another person's display name, and may appear on their lock screen. Locations and addresses are never included in a notification.

5. Statistics for improving the service (you can turn this off)

Analytics and error reporting services are used to see whether recording works and to fix problems. What is sent are coarse quality values, and never your location.

Turning off the consent setting in the app stops the related collection together.

6. Permissions

PermissionUsed for
Location (including “allow all the time”)To save the place at the moment a device disconnects. This happens while the app is closed, so background location is required
Nearby devices (Bluetooth)To notice registered devices connecting and disconnecting
NotificationsTo tell you the result of a recording and share-related news
Physical activity (optional)To help judge when a journey has ended. Recording still works if you decline

7. Retention and deletion

8. Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing. You can edit and delete records and devices inside the app, and delete the whole account from the app's settings or this page. For anything else, write to the address below.
